It is with great honour and a deep sense of responsibility that I begin my term as President of the Markham Elite Lions Club. The Lions motto “We Serve,” reflects a simple idea that has inspired generations of Lions: when we come together with compassion and purpose, we can make a real difference in the lives of others.[…]

Markham Elite Lions Club was Chartered on August 17th 2022 . The club motto is BORN TO SERVE. MELC is a team of Service Minded people to serve the community without any personal financial gains. The prime mandate of the club is Where There’s a Need -There’s a Lion.[…]

As we look back on this special occasion, we are pleased to share three meaningful moments from the inauguration and appreciation event at Markham Stouffville Hospital.
🏥 Through our three Annual Fundraising Galas from 2024 to 2026, the Markham Elite Lions Club proudly donated $100,000 toward the hospital’s Child Birthing Room, helping support a welcoming and compassionate environment for families.

A Celebration of Community, Compassion & Giving ❤️
Today, the Markham Elite Lions Club was honoured to attend a special appreciation event hosted by the Markham Stouffville Hospital Foundation, recognizing our club’s commitment to supporting the Markham Stouffville Hospital.
Through our three Annual Fundraising Galas from 2024 to 2026, Markham Elite Lions Club proudly donated a total of $100,000 toward the hospital’s Child Birthing Room — helping support a welcoming and compassionate environment for families during one of life’s most meaningful moments.
We were grateful to be joined by:
• Suzette Strong, CEO, Markham Stouffville Hospital Foundation @supportMSH who opened the event with words of appreciation.
• Catherine Ortiz, Senior Coordinator, Corporate Partnerships & Events, who kindly invited us to this special gathering
• Allan Bell, Vice President, Community Relations & Corporate Partnerships, who has supported and attended our Gala dinners for three consecutive years
• Dr. Gita Singh, Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, who shared her appreciation for our contribution and its impact on families
The event was held at Health Services Building – Auditorium 4, followed by wonderful refreshments and a light early dinner.
