WHO WE ARE
Markham Elite Lions Club was Chartered on August 17th 2022 . The club motto is BORN TO SERVE. MELC is a team of Service Minded people to serve the community without any personal financial gains. The prime mandate of the club is Where There’s a Need -There’s a Lion.[…]

💙 **Supporting Child and Youth Mental Health**
We were honoured to welcome Allan Bell, Vice President, Community Relations & Corporate Partnerships and Catherine Ortiz, Senior Coordinator, Corporate Partnerships & Events at the Markham Stouffville Hospital Foundation. Allan spoke about the Child and Youth Mental Health Program and emphasized the importance of community support in advancing this vital initiative.
He also presented our club with a beautiful photo book capturing special moments from the Appreciation Day. We are grateful for this thoughtful gesture and for the Foundation’s continued work to support children and youth.

Making a Difference in Child and Youth Mental Health
Markham Elite Lions Club was honoured to welcome Allan Bell, Vice President, Community Relations & Corporate Partnerships, and Catherine Ortiz, Senior Coordinator, Corporate Partnerships & Events, at the Markham Stouffville Hospital Foundation, who joined us to share an important message about the Child and Youth Mental Health Program.
During his visit, Allan spoke about the importance of this initiative and why continued support from the community is essential to helping children and youth access the mental health care they need. His message highlighted how collective efforts and community generosity can make a lasting difference in the lives of young people and their families.

🦁 Markham Elite Lions Club at the Joint Zone Meeting
The District Governor’s Zone Advisory Meeting for Zone 18E and Zone 18W was held on October 5, 2026, hosted by the Stouffville Lions Club at Latcham Hall in Whitchurch-Stouffville.
Markham Elite Lions Club was represented by our Board Members:

• Lion Abhishek Jain – 2nd Vice President

During the meeting, Markham Elite Lions Club proudly presented a cheque of $2,000 to Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF) in support of its humanitarian work and community service initiatives around the world.

🌸 Empowering Girls. Creating Opportunities. Changing Lives. 🌸
Members of the Markham Elite Lions Club were honoured to attend the PPES Gala, an inspiring evening dedicated to supporting the education and empowerment of girls.
The Pardada Pardadi Educational Society (PPES) is committed to transforming the lives of girls through education, skills development and opportunities for a brighter future. By supporting a girl’s education, we help open doors to knowledge, confidence, independence and a better future.
We are especially proud that, through the generosity of some of our Markham Elite Lions Club members, a total of 25 girls were sponsored. Their commitment to supporting these young girls is a wonderful example of the spirit of service and the meaningful difference that individual members can make.
It was inspiring to see so many people come together with a shared belief that education can change lives.
At Markham Elite Lions Club, we believe that service is not only about what we do together as a club, but also about the individual difference each member can make.
Congratulations to PPES for its continued work in empowering girls and creating opportunities for them to dream, learn and succeed.
